Familiarisation Trips

To make the most of attendance at Showcase Wales, a selection of 2 and 3-day pre-event familiarisation trips have been designed to give delegates a chance to explore Wales' stunning scenery and experience first-hand what Wales has to offer.

Trips will include accommodation, attraction and venue show-arounds or relevant activities eg walking, golf. The North & Mid Wales trips will start in Llandudno on Sunday 30 September; the South & West Wales trips will start in Cardiff on Saturday 29th September. All trips will arrive in Llandudno on the afternoon of 2nd October ready for the main Showcase Wales event.

In addition to the pre-Showcase familiarisation trips, there will be local half-day trips exploring Snowdonia and other areas of North Wales on the morning of Thursday 4 October. Details of these local trips will be available in early September when you will be invited to select which option you wish to take.

Experience the best Wales has to offer the visitor. The tour will highlight the key places that should be featured on any itinerary - with a few surprises as well. Explore castles and gardens; ride on a steam train - all whilst enjoying the stunning landscape! There will be an opportunity during the tour to conduct hotel inspections.

Wales - the Great Outdoors

Discover Wales on foot - on cycle - on horseback - on quad bike…

Wales has so much to offer clients seeking activity and adventure holidays. This trip will highlight what is available in terms of activity and adventure - how you can book it, with whom and where you can do it! There will be an opportunity to enjoy an activity of your choice and as the group will be comprised of mixed ability and experience, the activity (e.g. a walk or cycle ride) will be classified as relatively easy.

For delegates not wishing to actually partake in any activity, alternative sightseeing and hotel inspections will be arranged in the locations best suited to activity holidays.

Dress code: Appropriate clothing / footwear is required for those who wish to ACTIVELY participate in one of the activities. Smart / casual attire is appropriate for other delegates.

Suitable for: Operators looking to develop or add additional product to their Wales ' programmes as individual components or as a package.

The Learn English in Wales consortium includes 10 universities and private language schools catering for students from all different backgrounds. The Learn English in Wales familiarisation visit will give you the opportunity to visit some of the institutions, find out about programmes offered and meet with key people involved as well as gaining a good insight into destination Wales.

Cruise Wales

Cruise Wales is an initiative which brings together an expert team of port, tourism association and government partners. Our aim is to ensure that through national, regional and local cooperation, cruise visitors will experience the widest variety of quality shore-excursion opportunities from any one of its four Welsh Ports: Cardiff, Swansea, Milford Haven and Holyhead.

Depending on your preferred region/port, a customised trip will be arranged according to your needs. In addition to viewing the port facilities, you will also be able to experience a taste of the excellent shorex available from the various ports. Port personnel and local cruise consultants will be your guides.
